Summer season is here! And with it, comes a new wave of anime. Although next season may not be as filled as Spring, we still have some really good choices, and I am definitely looking forward to this second anime season that I’ll be following. So, here we go with the things I’ll be trying out next season! Hope you guys can get inspired by this and go watch some of these if they turn out to be good 🙂
Expected rating: 8/10
What can I say? It’s new game, it’s back, it’s definitely going to be better. I’m seriously going to enjoy sitting down and getting entertained by this after a day of tiring work. Onward to a new game!
Expectations: Good art and animation, great soundtracks, fun to watch and more Aoba.
Expected rating: 7.5/10
Judging by the summary alone, this has potential. Not to mention ufotable is in charge of this anime so we should expect to see some beautiful scenes as well as action. Even though this is an anime adaptation of a card game, if done right, this could definitely be a blast and an enjoyable watch.
Expectations: Great animations/3D/digital arts usage, beautiful action/non-action scenes.
Expected rating: 9/10
This right here is what I’m looking forward to the most next season. Kakegurui: Compulsive Gambler is a genuine masterpiece as a manga and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. I loved everything about it, and I actually started reading its manga after seeing its anime adaptation’s summary. I was not disappointed, and I’m sure the anime won’t either. At first, I doubted the VA casting, as we have Hayami Saori, the goddess with one of the most soothing voices(Onii-sama~) being casted as the MC, who is a Kakegurui and almost very clearly a psychotic person. However, after watching the PV, my concerns were gone. The voice acting was absolutely on point and I am sure she will bring fear to enemies and allies alike in the anime just like in the manga. Not to mention, the anime is going to be done by studio MAPPA, which has built up its portfolio recently with anime such as Yuri on Ice, and has proven its might in anime production. I am very excited for this anime and I hope for it to become as good as No Game No Life was. Now, to our next bet!
Expectations: On par, if not better, than the manga was. Good animation, music, voice acting as well as being a very good adaptation.
Koi to Uso
Expected rating: 7/10
I’m rooting for this anime. It’s summary has shown great promise and I’m looking forward to some nice romance and drama that will probably be entertaining. However, this is of cause just a trail and I do not actually know the source personally, so I cannot guarentee the source’s quality. But I can say that many has said good things about its source so if they adapt it well, it should be good.
Expectations: Heart wrenching romance/drama.
Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni.
Expected rating: 6/10
This may or may not become trash, but I will try it anyways as it seems as if it could make good comedy material. Hoping to get some great fun from watching this.
Expectations: Trashy fun.
Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e
Expected rating: 7.5/10
Honestly, I’m not too sure about this one, but it gives off a very strong Baka to Test vibe from the summary so I’ll be trying this one out. It sounds very promising with the plot at the very least so I’m hoping to enjoy some quality entertainment.
Expectations: Comedy mixed in with actual plot.
Made in Abyss
Expected rating: 6-7/10
A very shaky choice I’m making here. I got interested after reading the plot and after watching the PV it looks to me to be a fun little anime about adventuring. However, according to some people who has read the source it is actually tragic, which has me thinking: what exactly can happen? Thus, I’ll be following this anime around. I’ll definitely root for this anime to be a dark horse of the season.
Expectations: Mysteries, adventure fun, tragic moments.
Youkai Apartment no Yuuga na Nichijou
Expected rating: 5-8/10
I actually don’t really know what to expect from this haha. I got this from a friend who said he will be watching this next season, and his reason was that the source is good.(My friend reads light novels regularly) Therefore, I will be trying this anime out despite not feeling much from the summary.
Expectations: None. Perhaps some great mysteries from the tags it has been given?
Not watching yet(but observing closely)
Hajimete no Gal
Personally, I don’t feel a connection to this anime, but there’s quite a large following so I will see if it’s worth watching.
My reason for not following this anime directly is that I’m quite cautious about this. It seems like something that might bore me easily so I’m looking out for opinions from others on this first before actually trying. However, I still have a very slight interest in what this might become.
It’s… NTR! Uh… I mean… it’s what it is. I really don’t know what to expect so… yea… Definitely have to observe people’s reactions over this before actually trying it out for myself.
Interested but unable to watch
Owarimonogatari 2nd Season
Ahh… the pains of monogataris. I didn’t watch the first season unfortunately and I won’t start anytime soon due to the large amounts available in the monogatari series. As such, I won’t be able to watch this.
Very unfortunately, I did not watch the fate series. As such, I won’t be able to watch this anime. Or any other fate series. Damn.
With that, the preview for next season is concluded. Any series not included here I will probably not touch for various reasons, so their reviews won’t be appearing on my blog either.
The end season review for Spring 2017 will come soon, when the season actually ends. Until then, let’s all aboard the hype train for Summer 2017!
